No School on Remembrance Day (November 11, 2024)
The school will be closed on Remembrance Day, November 11.
Remembrance Day is a special day to honour and remember the brave people who served in wars to protect and defend their countries. Every year, on November 11, people in many places worldwide take a moment to think about and show gratitude to those who have fought and worked hard to keep their communities safe and free.
Remembrance Day is also a time to wish for peace, so we don’t have to go to war again. On this day, many people wear red poppies to show they remember. The poppy is a symbol of Remembrance Day because poppies grew on the battlefields after World War I. We take a moment of silence to remember those who have passed and to appreciate the peace we have today.
Remembering helps us show respect for these heroes and keeps us thinking about how we can create a better, more peaceful world for everyone.
